NWS Observation Map<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong> Observations around Western Passage Canal, Whittier and the eastern corner of Portage Valley. To get all data change the density to “All”. Double click on a site will show current and past information.<\/strong>The display contains NWS, FAA, RWIS (AK DOT), Railroad, Chugach National Forest Avalanche Center, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Marine Exchange<\/mark><\/a><\/mark>\u00a0Excellent source of information from both land and sea. Map \u201czoom\u201d and \u201cmove\u201d are features. Clicking on a station will show current and past information. The Whittier site is at the State of Alaska Marine Ferry Terminal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ring of Fire<\/mark><\/a> <\/mark>Good weather site in the Alaska Railroad yard on the light tower (elevation of about 90′).<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salt Company<\/mark><\/a> Montis Corp weather station and camera setup at the Salt Company (Whittier Harbor Triangle looking westward).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whittier School<\/mark><\/a>  Weather sensor across the street at the shelter area and also other data from sensor at the western entrance to the school (temperature bias during school year).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
